PacificAutismFamilyCentreThe Pacific Autism Family Centre (PAFC) is designed to respond to the challenge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in British Columbia — a condition experienced by some 40,000 individuals. PAFC’s core purpose is to be a Knowledge Centre; bringing together state-of-the-art resources for research, information, learning, assessment, treatment and support, and building capacity to address the lifespan needs of individuals with ASD, and their families across BC. The goal is to ensure that the Centre builds upon existing lifespan services while at the same time addressing the need for supports and services across the province.

Serving the province is an essential feature of the PAFC. The potential plan is to develop a “hub and spoke/satellite” concept. The main “hub” will be located in the Vancouver area with regional ” spoke/satellite” centres located in communities across the province. The physical spoke centres will have full access to the expertise and information services offered in the hub location. The locations for the spoke/satellite centres are yet to be determined.

WMGCFor over 23 years we have worked hard raising funds to give very special children a better quality of life.  The Women’s Media Golf Classic has delivered countless fun memories and over $2.9 million for BC children’s charities. We plan to keep the momentum going with celebrity appearances, tremendous prizes, live entertainment, a silent and live auction and a tantalizing, gourmet dinner.

Over the years we have been blessed with visits from the children at the golf course as they enjoy our display of police horses and motorcycles, fire trucks, PAD dogs, mascots and much more.  We have also filled the dreams of many children at our banquet providing computers, trips to Disneyland even a puppy to make their lives very special. In keeping with our theme we asked the children of the Mediated Learning Academy to create pictures sharing their  memories of the Women’s Media Golf Classic.  The results are both delightful and moving.  Take a moment to enjoy their very special masterpieces!

Mark your calendar now and join us at this  highly publicized event while raising funds and the roof for Autism and Developmental Disabilities!
